About UnderStand UPSC
The UnderStand UPSC Prelims Marks Predictor is a free score-calculation tool built by UnderStand UPSC, a UPSC Civil Services Examination preparation platform. We built the predictor for the 2026 Prelims cohort so any aspirant can verify their projected score against multiple coaching institutes' answer keys — for free, in under a minute, without a sign-up or paywall.
What it does
The tool takes the options you marked in the UPSC Prelims question paper, looks them up against the answer keys uploaded by nine institutes (UnderStand UPSC, Vision IAS, Vajiram & Ravi, Next IAS, Forum IAS, Sleepy Classes, StudyIQ IAS, PWOnlyIAS, SuperKalam), and computes your projected GS Paper 1 score with official UPSC negative marking applied. It also supports multi-correct answers (when institutes mark both A and B acceptable) and scrapped questions (where attempters get full marks but skippers get zero).
Who built it
The predictor was built by the engineering team at UnderStand UPSC (a brand operated by Upclass.ai) with the goal of providing UPSC aspirants a free, neutral, multi-institute view of their projected Prelims score. It is maintained and updated through the Prelims-to-results cycle, with answer keys uploaded by our team as each institute publishes theirs.
How it's funded
The predictor is free for students and we don't run ads on it. UnderStand UPSC's primary offering is paid UPSC study material and courses; the predictor is a public-good tool built to attract aspirants who may later choose our paid products.
Editorial standards
Answer keys are uploaded as-is from each coaching institute, with attribution to the source institute on every result page. We do not modify or interpret keys ourselves — where institutes disagree, we show both interpretations side by side and let the aspirant decide.
